About

Suburbia is a forty something single mother of two, forging her way through a whole new life with a lovely man and a stinky cat. When she started this blog she lived in a surreal suburban bubble in Bristol, writing about her family life. Then her blog lead to a chance meeting which changed everything.

Since then she has blogged through the downfall of her marriage and her new beginning - so much better than the last. She has dragged her two children through thick and thin and despite feeling guilty about that, in a lot of ways, their life is so much better now than it would have been had they stayed in suburbia.

Writing here helps her to get perspective and provides practice for writing in general. She created MFS on a whim, and it has changed her life, in more ways than one, you have to read it to understand exactly how.

Her life was in flux and - she has her fingers tightly crossed when she says that - things seem to have found an equilibrium at last.

"Lots of lessons have been learnt on this journey, patience (still practising that one!), living for the moment (also still practising) and the realisation that my children are a precious gift to be treasured (not that I didn't treasure them before but life was so dull before, the drudgery took away all the colour. Now we all sparkle). Nothing too serious then!

Today is a good day, come and see!"
