Is "work experience" something that is required for school? I remember the first job my youngest got when she was 16, as a hostess at a restaurant where her older sister worked. I wasn't sure it was going to work out, but it turned out to be the best thing ever for her--she became more self-confident and outgoing than she had ever been before. I always thought teenagers should be able to enjoy school and all its activities as much as possible, but the right job experience can also teach them a lot.
