Early this morning I took Small Sprog into hospital. It is years since his asthma has been unmanageable but today was a wake up call. It was quite surreal to drive through deserted Bristol streets to Frenchay Hospital. He was so good. The nurses and doctors were , as always, just wonderful and we couldn't have had better care.
By the time we got home it was nearly time for Husbands nephew to arrive and his arrival was such good medicine for us all. He came bearing gifts which were thoughtful and sweet, it is good to have him here.
Game of Mario Kart anyone?!!

I am glad you were looked after and had a supportive time from Frenchay with SS, and good for him that he was cheerful about it.
So Mario Kart involves driving as fast as poss'? Well.....I will leave my questions at that!! Hee hee!
OMG Sub!! How awful...!!! Hope he is fine..
I bought the family BUZZ music and we have had fun with this..
and funnily enough my husbands nephew arrived at 1030am too!! bearing thoughtfull gifts which broke up the morning nicely..
this is very weird...
Hugs to you and small sprog. It's so stressful going to hospital with your child. I am so glad he is OK and that the staf were caring and helpful.

Poor SS and poor you! Hope he's sorted now and everything settles down again. Mario Kart? I am out of touch with these things ...
Asthma is so scary, I'm pleased to hear small sprog is OK.
Well? Was the small package the ring?
Asthma attacks are so frightening--I do hope Small Sprog is feeling better by now. It's no fun to be sick during the Christmas holiday.
I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, and do tell us what was in your small present from your mother:)
I will write back soon...
Awww, you poor things - must have given you a fright (((B))). Hope he's using his inhaler and things are improving for him.
Don't talk to me about Mario Karts - I keep driving off the blinkin' track!!

Asthma is scary. It is so common these days, but that doesn't mean that it can't be fatal. A GP from our local health centre was once reluctant to come out, when my son's inhaler didn't seem to be having any effect on his breathing problems. When he finally put in an appearance, he explained that my son had been having an asthma and croup attack, combined. ie he couldn't breathe in or out!
I'm glad that small sprog was OK.
Ouch. such a wake up call, isnt it. Hugs and all to you and small one. Have a peaceful weekend.

Sorry to hear that Small Sprog suffered such a bad attack of asthma over Christmas and hope he is really better by now. Must have been a shock for you all.
If its any consolation, the "media" suggest that asthma can have been triggered in children who have been kept very clean! Consider that a compliment! My two must have been left to wallow in dirt! LOL!
I get asthma and it is scary, not being able to breathe properly.
Could have been excitement of Christmas, perhaps, that triggered SS's attack.
Glad he's feeling better now, and you had such a nice visitor.
Merry Christmas.
P.S. Yes and I'm dying to know what the small parcel was, too!
Hospital emergency runs with a small child who is struggling to breathe are, thank god, a distant memory for us now. I hope he recovers well and you do to, it is always afterwards when it hits the parent how scary it has been.
oh my, I am so late getting all the info.
Hopefully Small Sprog is better now. God, Frenchay Hospital, my Dad was in there years ago, way back in the 60s, I cannot remember it much.
My Sis In Law has three sprogs and one of hers suffers from severe astma (sorry it is late and I cannot spell it right!) so I have every sympathy.
Hugs to Small Sprog.
Letty ;0)
