It is funny how, sometimes, days that you have dreaded turn out to be not so bad in the end. I was not looking forward to breaking my news to mum today. I didn't want to see her upset. However she was wonderful, understanding and calm. She cried a little, because all I said about my relationship resonated with her own, and that is also what spurs me on. In 30 years, I do not want to be where she is now, though she says it is easier of late than it has been for a while.
She is worried for the children, of course, and me too, but she can see I have a strength and resolve to see it through and I think she took some strength from that herself. She has always been there for me, I am very lucky to have her here with me still, no matter how much she flurries in and out of my life! Mums are very special people.

in the end we are all mums, wanting our kids to be happy...
hope you are ok...
fff x
Suburbia..... I just knew it would be OK. Mum's usually stick up for their kids. You will be doing the same no matter what their age. They are still your kids! You are still hers!
I'm sure she wants you to be happy above anything else. If your own daughter were in the position that you have been in, I'm sure you'd want her to be happy too. Sometimes we have to do the right thing even if it's the hardest thing of all to do. And showing our children how to live is often the hardest thing of all. Far easier to tell them, than to show them.
(((hugs))) x
I am glad you can count on her support
Thats great... I am so pleased for you :)
Mums can often be a surprise eh :)
I had a feeling your mother would be very understanding. Glad to know she's there to support you!
Good for mum. She came through and will be able to give you some support from now on. I know that you are having a difficult time, right now, but it must be a bit of a relief to have finally shared your feelings with a few of the people closest to you.
I recall a decision I made years ago and I was really reluctant to tell my mom. I just knew that she would be confused, hurt and worse-disappointed. Of course she was none of those things. She was my biggest supporter, even telling me that she's not so sure she wouldn't have made the same choice if she had been in my situation. Yes, moms are *very* special people. You're one of those Moms too, you know!
Good for your Mum! My mun was just as good to me when I left my first husband - in those days (many moons ago) it was almost unheard of. My mum put up with a lot of snide remarks from her friends!
They are indeed! And you can usually count on them when you need them. Amazing how parents can sometimes surpise you with their reactions, too.
It's good that your Mum is there for you. x
They'll do, say and think anything for you. So special!
Ciao

Ah, mums. I think we underestimate them, don't we? Yet, we are all mums and will support our children in difficult circumstances, won't we?
Yes, I am so pleased the outcome with your Mum was good, I kinda felt it in my bones it would be, sometimes when we dread things, they never turn out as bad as we think.
Treasure her.
It will be ten years this February, on Valentines Day, when I lost my Mum - and I never realised until she was gone - what a good frined she was to me.
lotsaluv, Letty ;0))))))))
ps if you have your Mum, your strength and resolve, you will be fine on your new path.
Better to be on a new path, than on the road to nowhere.
;)D
Mums can be great at times.
It is surprising how when you least expect support you get the support that you need usually from your mother or sometimes even from your mother-in-law.
I am pleased your Mum is there for you, good to have her to support you.
Take Care.
Talking to a partner can be tough but telling everyone else, (especially children) can be so hard.
Not having children and not having been divorced, I don't think I'm qualified to give you any advice. But I'm glad your mum is so supportive. And how right you are to be thinking of the rest of your life and wanting to make sure it's a happy one and not one that you later regret.
Smiley badge for you mum, and you too!
don't know how i missed this one, sub, please forgive me.
These mothers! Sometimes you don't know what they're going to do. So glad she's with you on this. xxx
Good for your mum and you.
