Almost daily diary!

Oh my goodness I have just reached for pen and paper to make a list!

Now, this may not seem like much to get excited about, and you'd be right, in normal circumstances.

I was a list making person once. They were everywhere, and I gained great satisfaction when I could cross the things off that I had achieved. Most of it was day to day running of the household type stuff, lots to do with the children's activities, things to do and remember for them, nothing very exciting.

However, since January, since I have been in this strange half life of extricating myself from Husband, I have not been able to make lists. I couldn't make lists because my head was all over the place and I couldn't see further than the end of the day sometimes, let alone the end of the week. Being disorganised is part of  the process of dealing with major changes in your life. Feeling more organised is another step forwards. There is still a long way to go, but even so, today is another milestone!

In terms of benchmarking our ability to cope, list making can't be beat. It requires ordered thinking and an affinity for chronology. And yes I am probably making it sound grander than it actually is but what the hell - well done and jolly good show!

Yay! Lists are sooooooooooo satisfying, especially as you so rightly say when you can cross things off.

I have seen me, with a fully formed list, suddenly do something which was not on the said list, but then right it down on said list, and ceremonially CROSS IT off in one fell swoop.

This is definitely a step (or list) in the right direction.

Sleep well, lotsaluv Letty xxxxx Who hopefully is not signed in as her dog!!!!

That happened to me too - when life is too full of horribleness, the allure of lists just disappears. It's good that it's back for you. It might go again, but be assured, it will return. x

That sounds really positive that you're starting to feel more organised and can see your way ahead more clearly. My whole life revolves around lists, I can't imagine being in such a state that I couldn't make any. Makes me realise just what you've been going through!

I am a list person too. Then I forget the lists and leave them at home!

Glad that today sounded a better day for you.
Take care X

And you don't give us a hint of the list contents? Anything exciting?

1 Buy Spaceship
2 Watch more movies on TV

And so on?

I cheat - I always write a couple of easy things or things I've actually already done, just to get the rush of crossing them off. That way, the list looks less threatening!

I’m a self confessed lister. But I’m only good at writing the list, not actually doing what’s on it.
