Thank you

I have been very lucky recently to have received two awards.
The first from lovely Saz, who is often in my thoughts. This Kreativ Blogger award has clauses so here goes;

Firstly thank the person who gave it to you.
Copy the logo and place it in your blog.
Link the person who nominated you.
Name 7 things about yourself that no one would really know.
Nominate seven 'Kreativ Bloggers.'

The 7 things you don't already know is a bit of a tall order, so, having been inspired by a comment recently from Letty, I have given the 7 things a theme! Letty wanted to know how Husband and I got together in the first place, so here goes;

1 We met through my work
2 I was his customer
3 I had not long finished a long term relationship when he asked me out
4 When I met him I thought that he would make a good friend, nothing more
5 Within 3 months he asked me to marry him. It sounds so frivolous now, but I had no other plans for my life at the time and said yes without really thinking about it!
6 Within a year we were married
7 By the time I became pregnant with Tall Girl I knew I would never have the sort of relationship I really wanted.

It all seems, and indeed is, such a long time ago now. Yet had I not married him, I wouldn't have two beautiful children in the here and now, so perhaps it was meant to be. Anyway...

Now I need to nominate 7 bloggers. I would like to award this to;

who are all very creative indeed.
And last but not least Letty with her private blog, for her inspiration!

This second 'Queen of all things'! award is from Chic Mama, thank you Chic, and it comes with no strings attached as far as I can remember! So, I would like to award this one to
and Joanne
all Awe-Summmm in their own way

That's it then! Phew!
Hope you all had a good weekend. What was your highlight?

I am the Queen! I am giving a royal wave now.
I never give these out......... and still bloggers give to me! I don't deserve them!

Your answers speak volumes in that meme....... I understand better now...... the problems & why.

  2. Congrats. Most relationships run out of steam after a while. Whether we can keep it going depends on the personalities of the 2 involved....

  3. It seems rather pathetic but one of the highlights was all of us watching Doctor Who together. last night.

  5. It's always good to find out more about people through these memes. As you say - look at the two blessings you have been left with - so some good did indeed come out of bad.

Well done on the awards -richly deserved.

  6. Like Maggie May said, your seven answers speak volumes!!

Our weekend wasn't great...Chris has the lurgy (and was doing the whole man flu thing) and I had to go into Uni on Saturday for a Community Profile day (was up at 6am and didn't get back home till 8pm)...so the highlight for us was also watching Dr Who last night with a nice glass of white wine!!

  7. Congratulations, Suburbia! And thank you so much for the award; I will display it proudly.

Interesting meme; I agree with Maggie that the answers speak volumes about what is happening in your life right now.

    My weekend? Pretty dull:)

  9. Oh dear, so it really was a case of Marry in haste, repent at leisure....except for those wonderful kids of course.

  10. Life does work in such strange ways, doesn't it? But in the end, having the children is one of the greatest blessings we could receive, and that makes having had to deal with the guy just a bit more bearable.

I love the strength that I see in your thoughts and actions. There is no holding you back, even in the darkest of times.

As for my weekend... well, it was pretty amazing. I got to do a photo shoot with Harrison Ford, so I'll have those photos up on my blog today, if I can get it done.

    HUGS!

The highlight of my weekend? Getting husband to the shoe shop to buy some new shoes for him. An achievement if nothing else!

  13. Thanks so much Sub. I will post it next post. My highlight was snuggling up under blanket on the sofa with kiddies, watching movies and eating popcorn as the rain lashed down.

  14. Totally thrilled to get an award
but I think everyone knows everything there is to know about me! (and would die of boredom) but
here is how I met my husband:
    in 1973
    in Florence Italy
    he is American
    and a painter (Robertschmid.com)
    we married in 1976
to pretend it has all been unmitigated bliss would be utterly untrue
    but we are still together.....!
    And so we go on
one day we will meet and discuss things!

    word verification
    hootiane

does that mean that meeting would be a hoot?

  15. oh Suburbia! How kind of you! Thank you very much, because I have a private blog, I rarely get any awards, you made my day!!

I have been very, very quiet, unlike me, but been laid very low with a horrible cough and cold, which I cannot shake off.

Feeling a bit better today, but realise there is lots to catch up with on here!!

Thank you for explaining also how you and husband got together.....

    lotsaluv, Letty In Recovery!

  16. Congratulations on your awards.
Yes without the marriage you wouldn't have your two lovely children. My mother is always telling me, : Marry in haste, repent at leisure"

  17. Thank you for the award my lovely - and sorry I'm so late in accepting it. I'll blog it later today. I'm not worthy of it. I'm a cr@p blogger of late.
