Jubilee weekend on the water!

It was fun!

I think the children will always remember where they were
for the jubilee!

Tall Girl was mistress of the lock key!

And boy there were a few locks!
(though we ran out of time to do this lot - the longest flight of locks in the country )

Sitting on the roof was great fun.

It was a shame to come home, but we shall definitely go again one day.
How was your bank holiday weekend?

  1. Not half as exciting or memorable as yours, by the looks of things! I must get that narrowboat holiday booked...

  3. Glad you had such a good time messing about on the river!
What a fabulous mop of hair on that last picture. What I would have given for hair like that.
The keeper of the key looks lovely too.

I chilled out in front of the TV and watched the Jubilee celebrations.

  4. That was an excellent way to spend the weekend. Wise decision not to go through all those locks - I imagine you'd have been exhausted by the end. And ooh, a rare picture of the beautiful tall girl!

On Saturday I walked down the lovely coastal path on Belfast Lough. Then like many other people I tuned into the Royal River Pageant hoping to hear a bit about the history of the boats but treated instead to a load of gormless celebrities and shots of the Queen looking bored.

  11. How many locks?!

When I read the title of your post I thought you had sailed to the Thames. Looks like you had a great time. Children love those sorts of holidays don't they.

  12. That was a week ago! Went to see Coldplay on the Jubliee Weekend then listened to my wife moaning about it for most of the rest - she is not a royalist :-)

  13. That looks like so much fun!!! I kinda kept up with the jubilee celebration in the news and there was a blogger who gave a TON of info as well. I think I would have liked to spend it as you did though.
