When we arranged our wedding day I thought it would be fun to have it so close to my birthday.
I was wrong.
We never celebrate.
After birthday celebrations only 4 days before (not to mention, this year, the great occasion of my 103rd post!) Husband is all celebrated out! So much so this year, in fact, that he has forgotten!!
No divorce papers issued though, (not yet!), because I nearly forgot too, but I did manage to get a card at the local shops yesterday afternoon.
Husband looked very sheepish this morning. He looked so sorry that all I could do was laugh! Of course he may come home with a 'giant token of his undying love for me' this evening but experience tells me not to hold my breath!
More cake anyone?!
Husband and I (being of the wrinkly variety) often forget. For the actual year I would have to look at our marriage certificate!
ReplyDeleteHubbyan't forget ours...it's the day after his birthday! 20 years for us last week! Now we are getting ready to celebrate my birthday...on Sunday! Going over to Assen!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy the rest of your day!
Hope you cash in tonight!
ReplyDeleteIt's just a full day for you!
ReplyDeleteWe didn't plan ours all that well either--wedding anniversary, Christmas and my birthday--all within the same week!! What were we thinking?! Actually, I think it was something like...Oh, my dad is here for Christmas, what about getting him to marry us? Okay.
Well done on the "no divorce papers" bit! :D
Awwww, if he does lovely stuff on other days then I guess it's ok to overlook his lapse in memory. If he doesn't, hit the b*gger over the head with a frying pan when he gets in from work.

Happy anniversary!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't get a card either ... but he did phone me this morning. before he went off for his day of fun outdoor pursuit type stuff.
Hope your husband makes up for the card tonight ...
Happy anniversary! We have ours close together as well. It goes, anniversary, P B-day then my B-day all at once. Not as bad as my brother though. His B-day is 3 days before Christmas.
ReplyDeleteAnother congrats! You now have three to celebrate! Hope you have a nice evening celebrating, maybe husband will bring home a big bunch of flowers.
ReplyDeleteHappy belated anniversary!
ReplyDeleteLast year we both forget - I remembered a few days later though and let on that I was just waiting for him to remember 'cause I'm evil like that...:-)
Oh a belated happy birthday to you, and happy anniversary too. We always remember our anniversary but only mark it with a card and a meal out on the nearest Saturday.
ReplyDeletewell, think of this way: this whole month is an anniversary of the wedding! so he has until Monday to get it right.
ReplyDeleteI can relate to feeling celebrated out at times. Divorce papers, how exciting! I am going to have to wait at least a year for mine.
ReplyDeleteLindsay, I never want to forget it was one of my favourite days so far!
ReplyDeleteHi Denise, so all your celebrations are together too. Happy birthday for Sunday. He's a Gemini then? such nice people;)
Alison, my suspicions were right. Definatly NO cashing in here :(
Dori, your Dad married you! How brilliant....although, who 'gave you away'?
Thanks Kitty, frying pan at the ready!
Liz, no making up for the card so far!
Scargosun, I would hate a Christmas birthday.
Starnitesky, not a flower insight! Hey ho, there's always another year!?
Hi Don mills diva, that would have been a good plan, drat!
Akelamalu, I would have been really happy with a card and a meal out soon. Perhaps next year.
Minijonb, I love your thinking but it's never going to happen! But thanks for the hope anyway :)
Hullaballoo, a year is ages, what a pain. You are looking very pink!
happy belated birthday and congratulations on another marriage mark!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary. Hope he proved you wrong!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! Wishing you many more!
ReplyDeleteGood advice Suburbia. Hulla and my birthdays are only 13 days apart in late July and early August … yes, we're both Leos, who'd of thought. So we'll need to push our (as yet to be finally decided) wedding day out a bit.
ReplyDeleteHappy anniversary
Happy birthday
Happy days
Happy Anniversary! Hubby and I used to go out for ours, but we haven't celebrated much the last couple years. Ours is close to Thanksgiving, so I think we're too stuffed with turkey to move from our easy chairs!
ReplyDeleteI seem to be a day behind in reading your posts; I thought this was your Wednesday post--W for Wedding Anniversary! It works. No ABC for me today.
Just read Liz's post; you two should get together and celebrate, just the two of you!
ReplyDeleteHappy Anniversary! Although I think I'm pretty late on saying it...
ReplyDeleteAs for the cake? Yes please. I am always up for cake.
ALWAYS.
My birthday's the day after my wedding anniversary (hubby proposed on my birthday the year before). Luckily it means he doesn't forget either event, he just gets them the wrong way round usually!
ReplyDeleteHi Grit, is that a good mark like a star, or a mark a bit like a gravy stain?!!
ReplyDeleteM of this L, no he didn't! Never can, never will!!;)
Thanks Susan
Hi Bobo, thanks for all the happy's! Good idea, spread the celebrations (and NEVER forget!)
Thanks Rose, yes, Liz and I have wedding anniversaries and husbands in common!
Welcome Bloodredroses. Scroll down for cake!
Your lucky then! Mine would forget both.
I forgot our wedding anniversary a few years ago, I'll never make that mistake again!
ReplyDeleteYou keep wafting this cake under my nose and I don't ever seem to get a slice! Happy Anniversary to you both. Don't worry the only date my other half remembers just, is my birthday! x
