6 Years Old!

Well I missed it again, my bloggy birthday I mean. My first post was 3.3.2008; that makes Moments From Suburbia 6 years old this month, in contrast to the cat who is celebrating 18 years this month. He has accomplished this through grim and stubborn determination - perhaps this applies to me too?!

However it is Mothers Day here in UK this weekend and that was what started me writing here in the first place - so in a way, I am remembering on time, in my own head at least.

This week so far:

Tall Girl confessed to only just cottoning on to the phrase 'friends with benefits' after thinking it was about neighbours living in poor conditions on a council estate - bless!

I spend a considerable amount of time following the cat's bum around on Tuesday waving paper underneath him as he insisted on 'squatting' in odd places - that was fun, not (though I did manage to catch all 'deposits'!)

Small Sprog, well, what can I say? Producing words of wisdom whilst shooting things online and SHOUTING at his friends on Skype - nothing much changed there then.

Things here are not quite the same, I guess loads has changed in 6 years - as I suppose it would - but I don't have the same freedom to write all my thoughts down here now that I did in 2008.

How's blogging going for you?

Like you still going but not as diligently. The effects of real life having taken over (which is as it should be).

I'm sure you know that I understand completely that feeling of being unable to write freely. I still miss the Bloggy Bits, but at least the photography blog has allowed me back into blogland. I hope everything's ok - you know where I am if you ever want or need to chat. xx

Congratulations! Where has the freedom gone?

I had to think to work out what friends with benefits meant. (Still not absolutely sure; i shall have to ask my children.)

Happy blog birthday, I'm nearly 5 here, and also much more restricted in what I can write. Wishing I had stayed completely anonymous!

Happy Blogaversary, Suburbia! I completely missed mine this year, which was just a week or so after yours. So many things have changed in six years, and so many blogging friends have "disappeared". So nice to stay in touch with you all of these years!

I was lucky that I never tried to be anonymous, but am also aware of the wider audience these days which means I cant tell all.

Have enjoyed being with you on the journey! I think I started just after you in 2008 so if nothing else, it is a diary of our lives and what is changing in our lives.
All the best for the next six years :)

Yepp I guess so Steve, but I do miss checking in regularly with virtual mates!

Thanks a lot Kitty :)

I hope you have asked them Liz, you don't want to be sketchy about those sort of things!!!

It's tricky though, Blue Sky, when you meet virtual friends in real life, you lose it all.

Good to be in touch with you too Rose, it's sad how many people have disappeared, those who have fallen ill and those who just never return.

All the best to you too Fi, it's been a rocky road for us both but I guess that's life!

I can remember reading this post earlier and didn't realise that I hadn't commented.

Congrats on you blogging anniversary. You started off the same year as me, I think.
I used to post 3 times a week and now can barely find time or things to write about once a week.
I am sad to think so many of my regular *friends* have given up. It seems a great loss. Never mind....... there are others that come along though I do miss the original bloggers and often wonder how they all are.

I didn't know what friends with benefits meant either, had to google it!

I'm amazed I'm still blogging after 7 years, but somehow the inspiration keeps flowing. The subject matter's changed over the years, it's more personal than it used to be. I still look forward to all the unpredictable and thought-provoking comments.
