For 'Duracell Bunny' please insert Small Sprog!

Small Sprog has a new toy, courtesy of an end of season sale. It is Tall Girls too but Small Sprog has the longer lasting battery! They now are, we now are, the proud owners of a very large trampoline. It has a ladder up to it (!) and a safety net (thank goodness) and is just a little bit of a carbuncle on our suburban idle!!

We are the last family in the street to purchase one and I was beginning to think' Why bother?' when they happily went out to play on everyone else's!! However we have given in (or given up I'm not sure which!) and there it is. A vision of blue at the end of the garden. Why do they make them blue I wonder? If only it was green it would 'blend in'!

Husband put it together on Saturday. I had a horrible feeling it was going to be another 'greenhouse episode' but luckily the instructions were in English and the photos, though taken in China, were very clear.

Ever since it has been completed though, Small Sprog has been on it. Bouncing. All the time. And shouting too. (I am worried about the neighbours.) He has been very excited, and of course, he has invited all his mates in the street to play on ours. Now I know why I didn't need a trampoline in the garden! We have been invaded. There have been injuries, though thankfully not major, but unfortunately mostly to other peoples children.

If we hadn't reigned him in he'd still be going out there. Bouncing. Like a Duracell bunny, on and on and on! He should be tired, hopefully. He's safely in bed now, probably dreaming of bouncing. Or something more onerous, plotting perhaps, who knows what small boys dream of?

Many years ago in Seaside, Oregon, there was an old-fashioned amusement park. It's evolved now into video arcades and things that attract today's more 'sophisticated' youth. There might still be some amusement rides but I don't know because it's not the beach community Dear Hubby and I have always gone to with our children, which is Lincoln City also on the Oregon coast. But, as a little girl, we had friends who lived near Seaside and whenever my family visited theirs, we'd go to Seaside. They had a trampoline area with something like 6 huge trampolines at ground level. I'm not sure if it was an hour of jumping for a dime or a quarter but it was cheap and some of the best fun EVER!!! For a family with 4 children, it was something my parents could afford easily. Your post here brought back all those glorious memories of jumping...and jumping...and jumping. I'm sure this is something both your kids will look back on with the same kind of wonderful memories I have of such a simple childhood pleasure!

Oh you lucky thing! Always wanted one of those! But there has been some paranoia about them recently. Or bouncy castles anyway. Have fun with it. do you cover it up in bad weather? Always wondered about those things.

I hope you enjoyed the Archers. Do you think Alice likes Chris more than he likes her?

Love xxx

I can wholly understand the excitement and sheer thrill that Small Sprog must have whizzing about in his head at the giddy excitement of a trampoline right there in his own back garden! Fantastic!

Happy Bouncing! I expect you and Mr. Honey to give it a jump or too as well. Are you still going to Pilates? Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

I do love a trampoline, but last time I had a go on one, on the downward-to-upward bounce, I nearly lost my faculties! Tena Lady anyone?

My small boy sat bolt upright a couple of nights ago calmly insisting that he and I were on a railway track with a giant pink train hurtling towards us.. what can it all mean??

This will be a great way for Small Sprog to work off excess energy!
Several years ago, my daughters decided we needed a trampoline and bought one without telling us. The grandkids have had endless hours of fun on it, so it turned out to be a worthwhile investment. I can jump for only a minute, though, before my legs feel wobbly:)

It'll pass, it always does. You wait... In a month it'll be the 'trampoline' program for the Wii.

I would have loved one of those as a child, they are so much fun. The boys play on one over at their dad's when they stay there.

It's good for adult too, you know.

Kids love bouncing on furniture so a trampoline seems like a good investment! :)
