Almost daily diary!

Tomorrow we are going on holiday, a week away from it all! I have been looking forward to it for such a long time. Schools out, the children are happy, the bags are packed.

Meanwhile The Dilemma (thank you for all your comments) has not been resolved
I have asked for a temporary earlier finish time, they responded by saying they would call me back today to discuss it. Despite leaving a message and email I have received no response today. I presume negotiation is not possible!

So, although I am really looking forward to the holidays, I am finding it hard to focus on the lovely weeks ahead. There is unfinished business. As I left work today, was I leaving for the last time or will I return in September?

Nice holiday bag!

I reckon there's still some negotiating room ref' the dilemma.

Is it legal for a father to withhold payment? I think not.

I know the school problem is a real problem but try to put it on hold. Uncertainty is the one thing that drives me crazy, too, but I am having to try and manage this type of worry and live for the moment.
But.....try and forget it for now. Not easy, I know.
Have a great holiday, just to spite everybody!

I hope you can really "get away from it all" for a week. Bon voyage!

You can do nothing about it until you get back - possibly nothing at all as the decision isn't yours. I know it's eady to say but try and forget about it. Enjoy this precious holiday, savour the goodness of it.

I've only just read the dilemma and I'm sure that the fact he's cutting off your finances (surely he can't do that?) changes the terms of access because you HAVE to go to work now, don't you? (I'm seething on your behalf, again; why is the most unreasonable people always seem to win?) I'm guessing the solicitor is the person to speak to here, they know the rules.

Don't give up on the job the best time to negotiate on hours etc. is when they offer you the job. If they want you - and I think they must given the comment before they will at least discuss it. Stand firm - say things like "This is just the job I want I'm only looking for some flexibility for it to work for me and you" etc. You will get somewhere near what you need ... have some faith on this it will happen :-)

I'm so sorry your heading off for a break with this hanging over your head! Like what's been said before me, try to put it to one side (you can't do anything about it) and concentrate on having a lovely time with the kids...create some wonderful memories that you can look back on in years to come and laugh about!
