Mr A (for Archibald) Cat

Meet Archibald. He is adorable, at last our family is complete. He is aproximatly 13 years old and was unwanted by his last family as they had small children, which is a bit sad but their loss. He seems to be settling down well and is no trouble at all, apart from his carpet scratching habit; we may need to litter the house with those awful cat scratching posts.

Tall Girl wants to call him 'Jam' but as we've adopted him, he already has a name; Archie, a perfectly lovely name for an ageing cat. I proposed Mr. A Cat but that is not what she wants. She is excited and sends a text: I'm calling him Mr Jammy Dodger Kitty Catty...Dodger for short or for longer shortness 'Jammy Dodger'!

Longer shortness? Well that's really going to confuse him!

What a beauty. He is a magnificent specimen of a cat. Looks like he has a lion's ruff round his neck!

Yes Maggie, he's a Birman and they do have a ruff. He was from Bristol and Wales Cat Rescue and free to us (donation only) as he quite old. He seems to be the perfect companion and is next to me as I type. I think we are very lucky to have found him :-)

Why is it that pets make a home seem complete?

As with all cats, regardless of whatever you call him, he'll only answer when he wants to.

Ah, what a handsome guy! And how wonderful that he's found a forever home now, too. I think Archibald suits his dignified appearance.

Thanks Rose, isn't he like your lovely cat?

Mr A Cat might be interpreted as Mr Alley Cat - not very flattering. Archie is a good name. I guess his charming company will make up for a bit of carpet-shredding!

A Cat sounds perfect to me, even without the title :) He looks gorgeous too, hope he spends many happy years with you x
