600

"We've had 2 pets called Archie now haven't we?" asks Small Sprog
"Yes" I reply, only half concentrating.
"May be we should call the radiator Archie?"
(Now how did he make the leap from animal to inanimate object?)
"The radiator?" I say in a rather condescending way "No one gives their radiators names"
"Well you named your radio Nigel"
Ah, now he's got me on that one!

What names do you use for your household objects? (or am I alone on this one?!)

Congratulations on 600!

Erm....... I don't call *things* a name. Occasionally we've named a car and dolls and teddies (but they are sort of like people & pets.)

You've got me thinking of names for my radiators now!

600 posts! Well done Sub. A radiator called Archie yes - Nigel the radio I'm not so sure of :)

I have a pet name for the washing machine but it's nothing I could repeat within earshot of small children or nervous grannies.

Dicky, the radio is a shiny Posh DAB, a bit 'right on' and arty so Nigel seemed apt at the time!

Don't be shy Steve! Does it give you hassle?

In school we had a kettle called 'Shep' (Blue Peter... as in 'get down Shep') I think the kettle must've always been in the wrong place... Oh and I had a car called Suzi.

Wow, 600 posts is quite an accomplishment! As for naming objects, um, sorry, I don't do that. Small Sprog must keep you on your toes:)

You're certainly not on your own, though personally I don't usually have the urge to name inanimate objects. But I do have a couple of mini-koalas named Honey and Boo. Inanimate objects are more likely to attract a volley of swearwords than names.

Not got as far as naming the radio but do have long discussions with goldfish. One-sided discussions but they humour me.
