Cake porn!

I indulged in Friday afternoon tea and cake with a few girly friends today. It is a great treat rarely indulged in these days.

We gathered in Single Mothers kitchen on arrival and proceeded to discuss a plethora of subjects, ranging from spots (our own), underarm hair (our children's), hormones (most of us), waxing( V's other methods), to washing(clothes), adolescence(our off springs), laying patios(well there were workmen in the garden), laying turf(they was quite fit), and furry willies (you have to have seen the e mail to appreciate that one, thank you Kitty!)

Single Mother of Two filled the kettle and then opened the cake box.
"Mmmmmmm" we all chorused!
"It's rhubarb and custard Swiss roll" She trilled
"Ooooh!" Everyone replied
"From M&S"
"Ahhh!"
"Not just any Swiss roll then?!"
We stared at it for a while.

After she poured the tea, we 'retired' to the comfy chairs and the sofa. Single mum offered the cake. We all took a slice each and bit into it in unison.
"Mmmmm!"
"Ohhh!"
"Aaaah!"

These are the noises of appreciation of the perfection that is a sunny afternoon with tea and cake and good friends.

Oh blimey ... that's it, tell everyone that I'm the sort who sends round saucy emails! :-O It was a good one though, wasn't it? ;-)

You can't beat a girlie get-together, can you? They do me the power of good and I try not to miss the once-a-month pub meeting I have with some friends. We all have daughters the same age, so the conversation is always relevant!

And who or what were the human victims of your chatter? Were ears burning all over England?

Such moments are to be treasured and appreciated, nurtured and maintained... for these are the way women draw strength to survive the trials and tribulations, the celebrations and all the things that happen in your life.

Men and children may come and go, but good girlfriends can last a lifetime.

Given the range of subjects, definitely a girl’s afternoon, Lol. The 'V' thing... never mind, I think Im still too young to know.

Cake pron is always the best. I always fancy a hefty chocolate sponge centre spread myself... my guilty pleasure.

Hmmm, probably best for us blokes not to intrude here. Unless we've got a home-made, fresh out of the oven, rhubarb and custard swiss roll with extra chocolatey icing, that is. Or some painless waxing techniques....

Glad you enjoyed your day, the subjects discussed - well sounded fascinating, could you perhaps ellucidate on here sometime! ;0)

think I may have spelled elucidate wrongly there, got carried away, this is not a Marks and Spencer's comment!

Just to let you know I won't be around now for three weeks, off to Aus on Friday 27th March for two weeks, more details on my blog, but wanted you to know why I will be unusually and uncharacteristically quiet.

Excited Letty signing off. And hope things improve for you soon, well you know what I mean by that!

I'll thrown a prawn on the barbie in your honour though!
