Almost daily diary!

Today is a good day, for now.

The washing machine is fixed.
The custody is sorted, for now....

A six month trial. Six months will go so fast. I have managed to keep the children together except for one night, so I can cope with that. And they will stay with me more nights than with their father. For now...

I am frightened about the future. But for now I am trying to rest my brain a while and enjoy the little respite I have, knowing they are safe, together and mostly with me.

The mediator was fantastic, a very clever man, who kept his calm and ours. I am very grateful to him.

In four weeks time we will meet again to settle finances. I know for a fact that financial matters will take far longer than 2 hours, if we can settle at all. But that is another story.

Today is a milestone, one that has taken far to long to get too, but has been reached nonetheless. Today there is a very, very small twinkle at the end of a massive tunnel and I think it is getting very slightly larger as I gaze in.

PS. Thank you to everyone who has sent me good wishes, it means a lot to feel peoples kindness, it is very much appreciated.

Life is good! So happy to hear that this first step is behind you, Suburbia, and that the custody situation sounds like something you can live with. As you say, there is a twinkling at the end of the tunnel which I hope will turn into a bright light very soon.

And it's good your washer is finally fixed as well:)

The next best thing to an ending of bad times is the start of good ones... glad it all went to well. Yes, it's early days... but the days are new ones.

Great news, I'm so pleased. That's amazing that you got that sorted out in one session. Fingers crossed that perhaps the finances won't be so tough as you are thinking.
What a huge relief for you.

Brilliant!
Just worry about now...... and that seems fine.
Six months is too far away to even contemplate. Get used to living a day at a time. I couldn't cope otherwise.
Before you know it you will get through.
I am so pleased for you. Maggie X

Good news indeed!

Nothing is as important as the children so you can begin to breathe again now.
