The Abyss!

Don't usually blog at this time of day (7am), I seem to be burning the candle at both ends right now. There is a lot going on here that isn't very interesting but it's taking up a lot of time! So I'm going to bed late and getting up early and feeling a bit tired too.

When I woke up this morning I remembered that this weekend is the anniversary of our first date (Husband and me). I mentioned it to him when he came back in from showering.

'Look where that got us' he said, 'that was a big door that opened wasn't it?! Bloody great barn door!'

'More like an abyss' I retorted.

'In an alternative universe I wonder what would have happened?'

'Probably one of us caught food poisoning from the Chinese' I mused!

There was a lot of rummaging around type noise coming from Small Sprogs room. He's always up early and it was around 6.30 am. He sounded as though he was trying to tunnel out. By now Husband had drifted downstairs contemplating alternate universes and I got out of bed. Rubbing my eyes I stumbled to the door (I don't do mornings!) just in time to crash in to Small Sprog, who was dressed in his full skeleton outfit!

Sometimes I think I live in that alternative universe!

It was 34 years ago on January 18 that Dear Hubby and I met on a blind date. By the end of the evening, after he and our mutual friends had dropped me off at my house, he told them, "Some day I'm going to marry that girl." 5 months and 4 days later, his prediction came true! I'm not sure what universe THAT happened in but, oh, am I glad it did! He's still the center of mine!

Wow, fancy you doing an early post! How cool to see that.

Small Sprog is a real little star of the Blog-verse isn't he? Half Six on a Thursday morning is *clearly* the ideal skeleton dressing up time. Top lad!

Can we, your audience ask what you and H did on that first date? Cinema, dinner, drink, trip to the supermarket?

Have a nice sunny BS9 evening.

You mean you don't wear a skeleton costume in the mornings? I'm disappointed.

I do live in my own universe, one that is somehow remote from real life.

I LOVE it! Small Sprog is going to be a comedian...one of those really smart witty ones that ALWAYS know the right comment and the way to get people thinking. I laughed so hard when I thought of him coming out like that when you were having that conversation with your husband.

I love the surreal nature of living with small children. It improved my world considerably - brownie points to your 'skeleton' I say. x

If I I could get away with it, I'd dress in a full skeleton outfit too.

PS: If you did Twitter, you'd know my news by now! Ha!

I would hate to think where I'd be.

My kid did the same, instead of getting dressed for school he took one piece from 5 halloween costumes and made his own...outfit.

I often feel like I live in that alternative universe - those days when you don't really connect with life!! Small Sprog would fit in well.

alternate universe party of one... that's me. Perhaps I'll run into Small Sprog!

Kids are so awesome... such originality.

Too late at night for me to even consider what an alternate universe might be like...
Believe it or not, my 3-year-old grandson had a skeleton costume last Halloween that he carried in his backpack every day and put on every time he came to visit me. When it finally got too small, his mom had to buy him another. Little boys live in their own universe, but it's a fun one!

Alternate universe or not, Small Sprog certainly marches to his own drummer. Good for him!

Go small sprog, he really knows how to dress to impress.

You've given us a great image there, thank you Suburbia.
