Curtain twitching in Suburbia.

"There she goes"
There's a lady that lives at the top of the road who walks up the hill past our house every night. She walks very slowly from the bus stop at the bottom and by the time she has navigated the slight incline she is going at snails pace.
"Which house does she live in then?" I ask husband who seems to know 'who lives where' right up the road to the end of the close. I however, am not very observant and have no idea who anyone is unless they live within 3 houses each way!
"She lives at the top, the house with the Range Rover" He replies.
The man that drives the Range Rover looks quite trim and fit for his age. I look at her again, poor thing, puffing and panting up the road. They don't appear to sort of 'go together'.
"The Range Rover?" I comment "Poor thing, you'd think he'd pick her up from the bus stop at least"
"She looks like Zorba the Greek!" Husband says.
"That's really horrible"
"I didn't mean it like that"
"Well, in what way did you mean it then?!"
I had better stay trim in my old age I guess.

We're off for a child free weekend. See you soon. Byeeeee

Well... yah, we should all be healthy and trim for all of our lives, period.

And her husband should pick her up, that's just awful.

And I hope you have a wonderful weekend.

Have a wonderful weekend! Maybe snail's pace lady is looking to get more exercise.

If husband picked unfit lady up, she'd end up even more unfit.
Child free weekend sounds good to me! Have a good break!

I'm like your hubby...I know most of the people on our street and several for many blocks around us. Comes from taking my grandson and dog on endless walks and being one of those who never knows a stranger, ha! Maybe Snail's Pace is choosing to huff 'n' puff up the hill to try to get fit?? I hope you come back from your childless weekend refreshed and ready to face the music come Monday! That's one of the lovely things about being a stay-at-home grandma...at least the little ones go home at nite and on the weekends so I can recharge my battery!

Are you sure it wasn't her beard he was referring to?
